Question 1

What areas does Grand View Lawn Care serve?

Accepted Answer

We're based in Tampa, FL and cover eastern Hillsborough County and into Pasco — Brandon, Valrico, Riverview, Bloomingdale, Seffner, Dover, Wesley Chapel, Tampa Palms and Pebble Creek. If you're not sure whether you're in range, just call and ask.

Question 2

Do you work on commercial properties as well as homes?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We service both. Commercial grounds usually run on a fixed weekly day and a fixed scope so the frontage always looks the same, and we can work around opening hours where that matters. Residential yards are typically weekly through the growing season and every other week once growth slows.

Question 3

How much does lawn service cost?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the size of the property, how much edging and trimming there is around beds and fences, and how often you want us. We don't quote from a price list — we come out, measure, and give you a per-visit price in writing with no obligation. Call (813) 647-4309 and we'll come and look.

Question 4

Do you offer free estimates?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every estimate is free and there's no pressure attached to it. We walk the property, talk through what you actually want, and give you a written price. Call (813) 647-4309 to schedule one.

Question 5

Is there a discount for referrals?

Accepted Answer

Yes — recommend us to a neighbour, friend or coworker and you get 15% off your next service once they book. It applies for each person you send us, so it stacks. Just tell us who to thank when they call.

Question 6

What are your hours?

Accepted Answer

We're out Monday through Saturday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Call (813) 647-4309 any time in those hours — if we're running equipment when you ring, leave a message and we'll call you straight back.

Question 7

How often should a Florida lawn be mowed?

Accepted Answer

Through the growing season — roughly April into October — St. Augustine needs cutting weekly. Going two weeks in that stretch means taking off more than a third of the blade in one pass, which stresses the grass and is what leaves a lawn looking scalped and yellow. Once growth slows in the cooler months, every other week is usually enough.

Question 8

How short should St. Augustine grass be cut?

Accepted Answer

High — generally around three and a half to four inches. It's the opposite of what most people expect, but St. Augustine keeps its colour and crowds out weeds by shading its own soil. Cut short, it thins out, the soil dries faster, and weeds get the light they need to take hold.

Question 9

My lawn has brown patches. Do I need new sod?

Accepted Answer

Usually not. The most common cause of a brown patch in Tampa is a sprinkler problem — a head that's sunk below grade, been knocked out of alignment, or is blocked. We run every zone and watch it before quoting any sod, because fixing the coverage often brings the grass back on its own for a fraction of the cost.

Question 10

How long until new sod takes root?

Accepted Answer

It knits down in about two to three weeks and is properly established at around a month, but only if the watering is right. The first two weeks it needs water every day; after that you taper off deliberately so the roots chase moisture downward. We leave you a written watering schedule when we lay it.

Question 11

How deep should mulch be?

Accepted Answer

Two to three inches. Thinner than that and weeds come straight through and the bed dries out; much thicker and water struggles to reach the soil at all. It also needs pulling back off trunks and stems — mulch piled against bark holds moisture where the tree can't handle it and rots the collar.

Question 12

When should palms and oaks be trimmed?

Accepted Answer

Before storm season rather than after it. Deadwood, low limbs over the roof or drive, and an oak canopy so dense that wind pushes on it instead of through it are what cause damage in a storm. For palms, we take fronds back to the right point rather than stripping the crown — over-pruned palms are weaker, not tidier.

Question 13

Do I need to be home for the service?

Accepted Answer

No. As long as we can get to the yard — gates unlocked or a code for the crew — you don't need to be there. We'll let you know if we find anything you should be aware of, like a broken sprinkler head or a limb that needs coming down.

Question 14

Do you haul away the clippings and debris?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Clippings from a normal mow are mulched back into the lawn, which is better for it. For clean-ups, trimming and bed work, the debris goes out on our own trailer the same day — nothing gets stacked at the kerb waiting on a pickup.

Question 15

Is Grand View Lawn Care insured?

Accepted Answer

Please ask us directly when you call and we'll tell you exactly what coverage is in place for your property before any work starts. We'd rather you hear it from us straight than read a claim on a website.
